Portrait of a Woman

My mother once helped me move home from another state halfway across the country. On our interstate drive, we saw billboards for the New Mexico balloon festival. We spontaneously pulled off the road and showed up, and spent the evening in the chilling weather walking among the hot air balloons together while drinking hot chocolate. In the morning, we woke to see all the hot air balloons floating in the sky outside our hotel room.
